2005 T2 White Win Gene Harrington's Winter Ice Tournament!
Agost Lourenco's Jr. Cougars headed to Buffalo to play in the Gene Harrington Winter Ice tournament this past weekend. After not playing a game in almost a month the team came out a bit flat on Friday losing 6-4 to Warwick Wildcats. Agost and his coaches' pep talk after the game clearly worked as the next day the team came out flying, beating the Hatfield Ice Dogs 8-1, and then winning there second game of the day 2-1 against Cazenovia Chiefs. The win didn't come without some bad news as one of the defenders broke his wrist in the game.

With a record of 2-1, it set them up for a rematch in the championship game on Sunday vs Warwick. To add more excitement to that game, it was played at the outdoor rink.

The cool temperatures (- 17 with wind)  didn't stop our boys from coming out flying and scoring the first goal a mere 54 seconds into the game. 2 min 50 seconds into the second they popped in the second goal for a 2-0 lead. They were not done there and 7 minutes later scored again to take a commanding 3-0 lad heading into the 3rd period.

Warwick didn't go away easily and finally got one past our goalie with just over 2 minutes to play. Pulling there goalie a lot of pressure was put on and with 90 seconds left, slipped another into the net. Agost quickly called time out to settled the boys down  and put a plan together to kill the remaining 90 seconds. The boys responded well not allowing another shot and securing the win.

Congratulations to the team for a well played tournament and another win. Great job by our Head Coach Agost and his entire staff.
