2018 Nations Cup & Wayne Gretzky Tournament Successes
Our Minor Bantam T2 Blue team traveled to Detroit, MI in November to represent Team Canada in the 2018 Nation's Cup and Brantford, ON this past week to play in the 49th Annual Wayne Gretzky International Hockey Tournament.

On behalf of the team, we would like to thank Legacy Global Sports' Nations Cup and the Brantford Minor Hockey Association for respectively hosting well-organized tournaments with a high level of competition as well as our opponents in each tournament for your sportsmanship.

At the 2018 Nation's Cup, our Minor Bantam T2 Blue team represented Team Canada proudly and collected two wins in the tournament for Canada. Friday's games kicked off the morning with a hard fought victory against the Grand Valley Stars (2-1) followed by a tough game with the Carolina Rage that ended in a loss. The team opened Saturday morning with a second loss to a strong Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks team, however bounced back to earn a well deserved victory against the formidable Rochester Rattlers Purple (3-2). Another tough match-up against the Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks saw the team fall in the semi-finals and ultimately Team USA take home the 2018 Nations Cup in the Minor Bantam Bronze division.

At the 49th Annual Wayne Gretzky International Hockey Tournament this week, the Burlington Jr. Cougars Minor Bantam T2 Blue team had a tough start to the tournament opening with a loss to the strong host team, Brantford 99ers on Thursday night, followed by a loss to the Oakville Rangers (Giglio) on Friday evening. Despite the slow start, the team came out flying on Saturday and earned a couple well-deserved victories. The morning kicked off with a hard fought win against the Hamilton Huskies Red (5-3) followed by a nail-bitter against the Oakridge Aeros for our second win of the day (5-4)! Overcoming the slow start, our team showed a lot of grit and displayed a never quit resiliency.

Congratulations to Burlington Jr. Cougars Minor Bantam T2 Blue team on two great tournaments!
