Bantam Leafs Win Ange Giajnorio Memorial Winter Thaw Tournament
The Bantam Leafs competed this past weekend in what will be the last house league tournament ever for the Wave and Jr Cougars Organization.

The Leafs represented the O6 House League system well by going undefeated and bringing home the championship.
The Leafs had an incredible experience playing against the Queensland Cyclones a travel team from down under consisting of players from both Australia and New Zealand that were on a Canada tour in Ontario.
The Leafs were in tough in their first contest against the Heartland Dragons who came to Burlington in January for the O6 Tournament and defeated the top 2 bantam HL teams quite handily. This wasn't to be the case this time around as the Leafs played hard defeating the Dragons 4-2. Second game found the Leafs over powering the Cyclones in a 5-0 win, but the team from down under played some incredible hockey and were tough as nails. The Leafs than played the Niagara Falls HL champions Orange Crush and couldn't capitalize on numerous scoring opportunities as well as 4 goal post and crossbars but settled for a 2-2 outcome. The crossover semi-final found the Leafs destroying the second place Niagara Falls Kings 6-0 and setting up a possible final against the Dragons once again. All the Leafs players stayed to watch the other semi which was a fast paced action packed game that saw the Lefroy Ice Breakers outlast Heartland setting up a 1st in pool A vs 1st in pool B place final.
The Leafs were in it to win it and came out on the opening shift scoring and following up with three more goals to take an impressive 4-0 lead that would see them defeat Lefroy fairly easily 5-1 in the final.
Thanks to all the parents for making this weekend of hockey possible and creating a memorable WINNING experience for our boys!
